yum, Yum and YUM

bacon scallops

What is an all-around ‘Best’ dinner on hot days….quick, easy and delish? Well, SCALLOPS of course and local, support your fisherman, know where your food came from Scallops.  Easy and quick to sear, or BBQ (love that bacon), toss onto a cool fresh salad, and voilà!   Simply wrap bacon around the scallop with a slight overwrap and fix with water soaked toothpick and grill bacon sides. Make extra and eat chilled with next days lunch. Rimrack off-the-boat scallops last for Days!! After all, they just came out of the ocean.

Saturday ETA – 4pm at Rye Harbor. Happy to reserve your order at 603.343.1500

Another tooth!!!

IMG950730 Another tooth…not exactly a mammoth one though!!
If you’re down getting scallops today, check out what Kelsea noticed in the catch today –

think it’s some type of mammal tooth, that is very old and ate more than veggies…really cool! tooth 1

We will post as soon as we identify this critter.

Your local Rye Harbor fishing boat F/V Rimrack is out catching dinner for you today.

team squid 2013

2013 Team Rimrack – Kelsea, Mike (nice guy from Rye) and Tyler

Squid fishing ended for us earlier than expected. Although it was a shorter season, we are happy that Sanders Fish Market was able to make the extra effort to make Rimrack squid available locally. Three cheers for Sanders!!

We are returning home today at Rye Harbor getting ready to resume scallop fishing and planning Wednesday for our first scallop trip, so get those recipes back out! And now that the weather is better, we are looking forward to lots of grillage recipes!! You can count on one of the first being the fabulous bacon/scallop combo. Think about adding scallops to your Memorial Day menus. We are definitely looking forward and can’t wait to see all our great customers and friends!!!

Stay tuned for more details and be sure and share off-the boat info with friends and family!

We appreciate the support of our communities to help us continue to do what we love doing….fishing.

Want real fresh Rimrack Squid? Call Sanders Fish Market!

squid squid 1

Currently the squid have not moved into the Cape Cod area  that we are permitted to fish, in any abundance, so we are still holding our breath and trying all sorts of ways to make magic. We have been plugging away since the start of the season (unlike last year), but that is all part of the fishing business.

In the meantime, for everyone that has been asking how they can get our fresh loligo squid, The Rimrack has partnered with  Sanders Fish Market who will be taking orders and bringing Rimrack squid from the Cape to their market in Portsmouth sometime next week. Our squid is caught, handled and transported with highest quality standards, expressly for you!  Call Sanders at 603.436.4568 for more information or to order. This effort is new and innovative. Both Sanders and the Rimrack would love to hear your feedback and truly appreciate our communities support!!

Our whole squid will be immediately submerged into a frozen ice slurry, then headed straight to NH to keep them lasting for days…..unlike the method of being frozen, shipped to China, being processed, refrozen, and then shipped back to the U.S.  Yes, this… Continue reading
