Off-the-boat Dock Sales Hiatus

pat and mikeIt has been a wonderful season for catching such beautiful Atlantic Sea Scallops (we liken ours to ‘organic’) and developing a terrific way for neighbors and communities ability to access seafood directly off-the-boat while coming down and enjoying the adventure of seeing NH’s working waterfront (not to forget our resident snowy owl!). We take tremendous pride in bringing premium quality seafood to people who value best of the best in taste and price.

Currently our planned schedule is to squid and fluke fish on the Cape until mid-summer, when we will return to Rye Harbor to resume herring and scallop fishing. Stay Tuned !  In the meantime, we are working with Sanders Fish Market(Portsmouth NH) to make RimrackFish Premium Loligo Squid seasonally available in May. Also known as calamari, they are prized for their mild and subtly sweet taste. Stay Tuned ! See Mark Bittman’s NY Times 10 Tenticacles,, 12 Recipes for some ideas.

2014 northeast Shrimp season closure was a big disappointment for us and our customers, knowing it will be another year (Dec/Jan) to wait word for a possible 2015 season.

We recommend sending us your emails for future fishing efforts, thoughts and ideas. We… Continue reading

Request for Favorite Seafood Recipes:

Hey Everyone,

The Women of Fishing Families are requesting seafood recipes to put together a collection for a fishing family celebration at the Fish Locally Collaborative Assembly in New Bedford next month.(April)

The recipes will be shared among the participants–fishermen & their families, chefs, seafood advocates, farmers, scientists, and ocean activists from around the country–who will be gathering to celebrate and honor the tradition of community-based fishing in our region.

A few of the recipes will be used in a family-style seafood dinner at the assembly, which is being coordinated by UNH student & seafood activist Amanda Parks.
We are specifically looking for recipes that:
-include locally-harvested fish & shellfish from your region
-appeal to kids
-tell a story about your family and fishery
-send a message about using local ingredients

Please forward any recipes you would like to share to fv.rimrack@gmail.com

Thanks!
