Shrimp news.

The ASMFC held their shrimp meeting last week.  As expected, the season will remain closed with the exception of a number of boats getting lottery exemption for research.  You can read about it from the Portland Press Herald.

Fall Update

It is sad news for us to share with our valued customers, friends and community that we have been able to make only a handful of trips (herring/tuna) and not a promising outlook for fishing or dock sales in the near future. The shrimp season looks like it will be closed again, unless we are chosen for one of four research boats out of MA,NH,ME,  which means we would have limited dock sales. In addition, the federal NGOM scallop season was closed last May and will not open until March 1, 2017. It would not be unrealistic to expect that the 2017 season will be short. Our current plan is to take ‘standing orders’ for pickup as notified during that time.

The bottom line, as what we have come to know well, is a ‘wait and see’ and ‘stay tuned’….

We will post here and Facebook  any news or updates.

In the meantime, have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
