Know Your Fisherman, Know Your Food

***Rimrack JPEG logoThe F/V (fishing vessel) Rimrack is a family owned fishing business located at scenic Rye Harbor NH. Our catches are harvested from Mother Nature’s clean coastal waters off NH’s historic Isles of Shoals, including Stellwagon Bank to Cape Cod in the Gulf of Maine. Our trip catches  are available to the public  directly off-the-boat. We have been in the fishing business since the 1970’s, when Mike, also known as ‘the nice guy from Rye’, left his role as an educator to devote himself full time to his passion as a fisherman.

After living around the world as a military ‘brat’, Padi longed for roots and found them on NH’s seacoast, starting Rye businesses Whaleback Fish & Lobster Market, Atlantic Fishing Fleet and Capt. Mindy’s Fishing. Eventually, she took time off to raise a family and spent her spare time working on Rye’s Conservation Commission, farming, coaching soccer and helping Mike with the family boats, F/V Parental Guidance, F/V Madrigan and F/V Rimrack.

Over the years commercial fishing has changed from an ‘Old Man of the Seas’ experience to the implementation of regulatory changes much like those seen in farming since the 1970’s. Where we shared relationships with neighbors and tourists who came to the docks to enjoy the fish we harvested, we found ourselves consumed with compliance and bureaucratic mazes for years that effectively ended those relationships.

As one of the few remaining groundfishing businesses in NH, our goal today, much like our farmers, is to reclaim our heritage, our choices and the timeless values of bringing fish directly to you.

When you see our fish, you see Pride in our catch. You see direct sourcing translating into the very best in value, taste and nutrition. We all see healthier, vibrant communities. Families know exactly who catches and where their food comes from, while investing in the local economy and preserving our local fishing boats for future generations as NH has done for nearly 400 years.

Our passion for nature is evident in harvesting standards and care, reflecting an “our family to yours” attitude valued in NH for generations. We love what we do and take immense pride in our work and our heritage.

We appreciate the support of our communities to help us continue to do what we love doing….fishing  !
