Scallop Order’s Closed for the Season

Dock sales and orders are closed for this season.

There is a possibility that we may resume dock sales this coming mid December. We may continue the ‘standing order’ model.

Stay tuned….

Thursday Update

March winds are keeping us tied up more days than not….another bust today, with Saturday and Sunday trips looking like a no go.

March 17th is our last dock sales day and unfortunately, we may not be able to get to all the standing orders this season.

Stay tuned….

Hold on New Scallop Orders

Due to high scallop demand, poor weather conditions (wind) and catches, we are not taking any more orders at this time.

We are working hard to fill our standing orders. Please stay tuned, thank you.

Sunday Update

Ugh, another day tied up due to wind!

We will most likely be calling the day of trips to give notice for order pickup time the following day. We would appreciate a return call ASAP for confirmation or unable to pickup.

Call 603.343.1500 for questions. Thank you!

Thursday Update

Today marks the first trip of the season due to weather the last 2 days. We will be filling early orders down the list.

Stay tuned!

Scalloping – 1st day (Wednesday) update

The weather (wind) has tied us up for today/Wednesday (trip 1) and probably tomorrow/Thursday (trip 2).

Currently we are planning our first dock-sales order pickup on Saturday. We will continue down the standing order list as catches and weather permit.

Please feel free to call in to check on your order status.

Have a wonderful day!

Scallop trip Update

For recent information on order progress, weather and other information, please check here or facebook for updates.

Currently it looks like we may miss opening day March 1 and possibly March 2. The weather (wind) factor will delay the order sequence as planned. March can be a tough month for wind….  safety comes first.

Feel free to call in 603.343.1500 for more detailed info on your personal order !  Thank you, Padi.

Scallop Update – March 1 Season Opening

March 1 is just around the corner. We are anxiously awaiting and preparing the boat for our first scalloping trip.

We have changed the order process this year to make it more fair for customers that may lose a trip (pre-order) due to weather. We are taking ‘standing orders’, name and phone # to be called for trips March 1 through March 17th (our last planned dock sales day). Prices will start at $19 (5 or more lbs), $18 (20 or more lbs) and $17 (30 or more lbs). Please let us know if there are extenuating circumstances for pickup arrangements.

Scallop season opens March 1.

It is sad news for us to share with our valued customers, friends and community that the federal NGOM scallop season was closed last May and will not open until March 1, 2017.

Our current plan is to take ‘standing orders’ for trip scallop pickups as notified during that time. It would not be unrealistic to expect that the 2017 season will be short.

Summer Update – Squid, Herring and Scallop news

It has been a great squiIMG_2360d season this year with good catches and meeting up with old and new friends. Some people were lucky enough to get some of our squid through Amanda at New England Fishmongers. Hopefully next year the availability will increase! It’s all fun and very healthy making local seafood accessible. Think new recipes to try! check out Thanh’s Kitchen Sauteed Squid!

Now the bad news…. NOAA/NMFS shut down the scallop season as the annual quota was reached for the northern Gulf of Maine. The new season starts March 1, 2017. Yes, that means we can not go scallop fishing until then…unless, the State of Massachusetts requests an exemption to fish state waters. This may, or may not happen…probably not in time if at all.

In the meantime, on the Rimrack return to Rye, we will give it a go for herring fishing. Stay tuned to the website or facebook for further updates as they happen.
